Erik, our son, found Charlie at a dog park in Eugene, Oregon.  Erik stayed with the puppy wearing a pink bow until the park closed looking for the owner.  The next day it was back to the park looking for the owner and asking everyone if they knew him.  Within the week posters had been put out and the puppy had been seen by a vet and scanned for an identification chip.  When Erik returned to California, he brought the puppy with him knowing the little guy would make a good pet for us.

Of course we fell in love with this happy little fellow and he with us.   Research identified Charlie as an English Pointer.  The breed was developed as a hunting dog in the 16th century from Greyhounds, Foxhounds, Bloodhounds, and Bull Terriers and was brought to America in the 1800’s.  The English pointer is found on the logo of the Westtminster Kennel Club and is so abundant in the southern United States that it is simply refered to as “bird dog”.

Charlie’s favorite thing to do is go to the dog park,   if you see him there, he’ll be happy to say “hello”.
