Phoenix Dog Park DOCENT program The idea of the DOCENT program is to welcome newcomers and provide guidance – in a friendly sort of way – to ensure that people know what is expected of them and their dogs. The emphasis will be on keeping our dog park a clean, safe, friendly place. A docent is one who educates and guides, and that’s exactly what this group would do. Our docents will not be “police” or enforcers. Our dog park DOCENT program is in operation. We currently have a dozen volunteers who have gone through the training and have been greeting our visitors, new and old alike, for several weeks. At the end of June, our dog park DOCENTS will be wearing yellow arm bands that proudly say: DOG PARK DOCENT. When you see these arm bands, please show your appreciation by introducing yourselves and tell them something about your pet. They will be pleased to meet you.
If you are interested in becoming a DOG PARK DOCENT, please drop us an E-Mail and tell us of your interest. You will be notified of the next training session. Thank you for being members of FORDOG and supporting Phoenix Dog Park. FORDOG Steering Committee |
