Thank you for inviting Katie to be FORDOG's August 2006 Dog of the Month. She is very honored!

Katie is 100% Basset - she is 5yrs old.

We obtained her from a breeder in Gilroy, and she is from the champion line of CastleHill -- but they won't claim her because she is TOO TALL!! Lucky for us!!

As you know she is a very fun loving girl, and her favorite outing is to the dog park where this year she has developed a new passion for Big Black Dogs! Of course everyone knows about her infamous problems with rock eating. Thankfully we are almost 1 year out from her last surgery.

Her favorite buddy is her shadow, little sister Lola.

Her unique tricks:   Sitting up on her hind legs for several minutes asking for a walk or a special treat (her favorite Frosty Paws), bringing her bowl to us when it is dinner time, and her annoying little habit of sneaking the newspaper off the couch when she just wants attention! I suppose that doesn't really qualify as a trick!

There is never a day in life that is bad enough to prevent Katie from making you smile or laugh. Her Moms, Lynn & Carol, live in El Dorado Hills.
