Jesse James ... best little outlaw in Fair Oaks!
We're not sure exactly how old Jesse is -- he's a "pound puppy" and we have limited information -- but we think he was born around April 1999. He joined our family in September 2002.
He clearly has incredibly strong herding instincts -- anyone who has watched him for a few minutes at the dog park can see that. Jesse passed his herding instinct certificate from Performance Dogs in Action, Pleasant Grove, on October 15th, with flying colors. Play the movie clip below and see.
In just the last few months, Jesse has discovered the joys of chasing tennis balls and frisbees, and will literally go until he drops -- drops into the wading pool, that is, for he is quite the water dog when given a chance! Jesse has had formal obedience training and earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate with PERFECT marks, the first time out, which we're told is quite unusual. He has also competed somewhat in agility, and earned a 1st Place blue ribbon in his very first event; he could do more in agility, but becomes SO excited that he's difficult to direct!
Jesse lives with Starr and a big black cat named Toby, and with Dan and Marcia.
