Sadie was born August 17, 2004 to country working parents Reba and JR in Mosquito (near Georgetown) in a litter of 7, 4 boys and 3 girls. Reba is red and white and JR is black and white. She and all her siblings are black and white. She joined us in October when we picked her up at WalMart Parking lot in Placerville where her breeder "Critter" Reid handed her to us by the scruff of her neck. Sadie has diplomas from Puppy Kindergarten and Beginner's Class and is now enrolled in Obedience class and receiving individual training at Performance Dogs in Action for agility. Actually Linda and Ellie are learning how to handle a very active, energetic and smart Border Collie.
She loves to play ball at the dog park and would catch the ball all day long if it is thrown to her. She also catches Frisbees, and enjoys all the activities of the agility course. Sadie is still learning the nuances of obedience and we're told Borders are slow developers and are "puppies" until they're 18 months. When she learns to Come quickly on command, she will be considered for herding classes as well.
Sadie is single minded about playing ball at the park; she will interact with other dogs, large or small, especially when there is a "rumble" where she gets in the mix to herd the group. She is loving, gentle and friendly. The Dog Park is her favorite place to be; she runs to the door at the sound of those magic words.
